Conversational Grounding
Conversational grounding focuses on establishing shared understanding between conversational agents and users, crucial for building effective and trustworthy dialogue systems. Current research emphasizes improving large language models' ability to identify and track shared knowledge, often leveraging knowledge graphs and other structured knowledge representations to bridge the gap between natural language and formal knowledge structures. This work aims to enhance dialogue systems' comprehension of grounding acts and units, leading to more natural and reliable human-computer interactions across various applications, such as autonomous driving and information retrieval.
