Cooperative Intelligent
Cooperative intelligent transportation systems (C-ITS) aim to improve road safety and efficiency by enabling vehicles and infrastructure to share data and coordinate actions. Current research focuses on developing robust communication architectures (e.g., hybrid networks leveraging multiple radio access technologies), efficient simulation frameworks for testing C-ITS software, and advanced machine learning techniques like federated learning and multi-agent reinforcement learning for tasks such as traffic signal control and autonomous driving. These advancements are crucial for realizing the potential of C-ITS to enhance safety, reduce congestion, and optimize resource utilization in increasingly complex transportation networks.
