Coronavirus Disease 2019
Coronavirus Disease 2019 (COVID-19) research focuses on improving diagnosis, treatment, and understanding of disease spread. Current efforts utilize machine learning, particularly convolutional neural networks (CNNs) and Bayesian networks, applied to various data sources including chest X-rays, CT scans, and even vocal audio, to enhance diagnostic accuracy and predict disease severity or patient outcomes. These models are being refined through techniques like transfer learning and domain adaptation to address data heterogeneity and improve model robustness. The ultimate goal is to develop effective tools for clinicians and public health officials to manage the disease more efficiently and inform public health policy.
