Counseling Conversation
Research on counseling conversations focuses on leveraging large language models (LLMs) to improve accessibility and efficiency of mental health support. Current efforts center on creating realistic simulated counseling dialogues using various LLMs and architectures like transformer-based models and reinforcement learning, often incorporating cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT) principles and domain-specific knowledge to enhance model performance and accuracy. This work aims to develop automated systems for counseling support, evaluation, and even summarization of sessions, ultimately improving the quality and reach of mental healthcare.
