Creative coding research explores how artificial intelligence, particularly large language models (LLMs), can augment human creativity in programming artistic projects. Current work focuses on developing AI-assisted tools that bridge the gap between high-level creative concepts and the technical details of code, often employing node-based interfaces and natural language prompts to facilitate intuitive interaction. This research aims to improve accessibility and enhance the creative process for diverse users, from individual artists to families, by providing AI support for tasks like code generation, debugging, and idea exploration. The findings inform the design of more effective and engaging computational creativity tools.
