Crisis Event
Crisis event research focuses on understanding and responding to various crises using computational methods, primarily leveraging social media and other readily available data sources. Current research emphasizes developing and applying advanced machine learning models, including transformers and other deep learning architectures, for tasks such as crisis event classification, information extraction, and sentiment analysis across multiple languages. These efforts aim to improve crisis response efficiency and effectiveness by enabling faster information processing, more accurate predictions, and better-targeted interventions, ultimately impacting both humanitarian aid and economic forecasting.
