Cyber influence research explores how digital technologies are used to manipulate perceptions and behaviors online. Current investigations focus on leveraging artificial intelligence, particularly generative models like diffusion networks, to create realistic synthetic media (e.g., images and audio) for deceptive purposes, as well as analyzing the psychological mechanisms behind techniques like ASMR to understand and potentially counter their influence. This interdisciplinary field combines expertise in computer science, psychology, and social sciences to understand and mitigate the risks of malicious cyber influence campaigns, informing the development of detection and defense strategies.
