Dark Matter Halo
Dark matter halos are the massive, unseen structures believed to host galaxies, and understanding their properties is crucial for advancing our cosmological models and galaxy formation theories. Current research focuses on accurately modeling the complex relationship between dark matter halos and the galaxies they contain, employing machine learning techniques such as graph neural networks, generative adversarial networks, and diffusion models to efficiently and accurately predict halo properties (e.g., density profiles, mass, subhalo populations) from simulations or observations. These advancements enable more precise cosmological parameter inference and improved understanding of baryonic feedback processes, ultimately refining our knowledge of dark matter's nature and the universe's large-scale structure.
