Deception Cue
Deception cue research focuses on identifying and understanding the signals—verbal, nonverbal, and contextual—that indicate deception in various contexts, from human-human interaction to interactions with increasingly sophisticated AI agents. Current research emphasizes multimodal approaches, leveraging machine learning models (including those based on large language models and attention mechanisms) to analyze diverse data types like video, audio, and text, often incorporating personality and emotional factors. This work is crucial for enhancing cybersecurity, improving human-AI trust, and advancing our understanding of deception's psychological and social dynamics.
