Deep Vein Thrombosis
Deep vein thrombosis (DVT), the formation of blood clots in deep veins, is a serious condition often leading to life-threatening pulmonary embolism. Current research focuses on improving DVT diagnosis and risk assessment through advanced imaging techniques, particularly using robotic ultrasound systems guided by machine learning algorithms like those based on Kernelized Movement Primitives or neural ordinary differential equations. These efforts aim to standardize diagnostic procedures, improve accuracy, and ultimately reduce the incidence of this potentially fatal condition by enabling earlier and more reliable detection. Furthermore, computational models, including AI-aided multiscale simulations, are being developed to better understand the complex physiological processes involved in clot formation.
