Deformation Model
Deformation models aim to represent and predict how objects change shape over time, a crucial task in computer vision, robotics, and animation. Current research focuses on developing more accurate and efficient models, often employing neural networks (including graph neural networks and deep unfolding networks) and incorporating physical properties like elasticity or geometry awareness to improve realism and robustness. These advancements are driving progress in applications such as 3D reconstruction from videos, dynamic view synthesis, human motion retargeting, and human-robot collaboration, enabling more intuitive and realistic interactions with virtual and physical environments.
