Dental diagnostics is rapidly evolving through the application of artificial intelligence, aiming to improve the accuracy and efficiency of diagnosing dental diseases from various data sources like panoramic X-rays and clinical notes. Current research focuses on deep learning models, including enhanced ResNet architectures with attention mechanisms and self-supervised learning frameworks, to analyze imaging data and extract diagnostic information from unstructured text using natural language processing (NLP) techniques like those based on large language models (LLMs). These advancements hold significant promise for improving the speed and accuracy of dental diagnoses, ultimately leading to better patient care and streamlined workflows in dental practices.
