Depth Aware
Depth-aware methods in computer vision aim to integrate depth information with other visual cues (like RGB images) to improve the accuracy and robustness of various tasks, including scene segmentation, object detection, and 3D scene reconstruction. Current research focuses on developing unified frameworks that jointly process depth and other modalities, often employing transformer-based architectures or incorporating depth information at multiple stages of processing, such as input, feature extraction, and output. These advancements lead to improved performance in tasks requiring detailed geometric understanding, with applications ranging from autonomous driving to robotic perception and 3D content creation. The integration of depth significantly enhances the accuracy and reliability of these systems, particularly in challenging scenarios with occlusions or varying lighting conditions.
