Diagnostic Reasoning
Diagnostic reasoning, the process of identifying a condition based on available information, is a critical area of research focusing on improving accuracy and efficiency, particularly in healthcare. Current efforts leverage large language models (LLMs) and other machine learning techniques to analyze diverse data sources, including clinical notes, medical images, and even social media posts, to automate or augment diagnostic processes. This research aims to enhance diagnostic accuracy, reduce cognitive burden on clinicians, and improve patient care, with applications ranging from assisting in differential diagnosis to generating comprehensive medical reports.
