Dielectric Tensor

The dielectric tensor describes the directional dependence of a material's response to an electric field, a crucial property for numerous applications in electronics and beyond. Current research focuses on accurately predicting dielectric tensors, particularly for inorganic materials, using advanced machine learning techniques such as equivariant neural networks that leverage structural information to improve prediction accuracy. This work is driven by the need for efficient material discovery and improved diagnostic tools, for example, in medical imaging where dielectric properties are used to detect conditions like hemorrhagic stroke. Accurate dielectric tensor prediction facilitates the design of novel materials with tailored properties and enhances the development of advanced sensing technologies.
