Different Speckle
Speckle, a granular noise pattern arising from wave interference in imaging modalities like ultrasound and synthetic aperture radar (SAR), degrades image quality and hinders accurate analysis. Current research focuses on developing advanced speckle reduction techniques, employing diverse approaches such as filter-based methods (e.g., Lee, Kuan, Frost filters) and deep learning architectures (e.g., convolutional neural networks, diffusion models) to improve image clarity and extract meaningful information. These advancements are crucial for enhancing the diagnostic capabilities of medical imaging, improving the accuracy of remote sensing applications, and facilitating more precise quantitative analysis of tissue properties.
