Differentiable Renderers
Differentiable renderers are computational tools that allow for the calculation of gradients with respect to scene parameters within a rendering process, enabling optimization through gradient descent. Current research focuses on developing more accurate and efficient differentiable renderers, including those based on Gaussian splatting, volume rendering, and novel rasterization techniques, to improve applications such as 3D reconstruction, object pose estimation, and image-guided mesh deformation. These advancements are significantly impacting computer vision and graphics by facilitating the training of more robust and accurate models for various tasks, particularly in scenarios with limited data or complex lighting conditions.
