Diffractive Network
Diffractive networks are all-optical neural networks using engineered diffractive surfaces to perform computations at the speed of light, aiming to accelerate large-scale information processing. Current research focuses on expanding their capabilities beyond coherent light sources to handle incoherent illumination, developing quantization-aware training methods for robust fabrication, and exploring architectures for complex tasks like universal linear transformations, polarization control, and time-lapse image classification. These advancements hold significant promise for applications in various fields, including imaging, sensing, and secure data processing, by offering energy-efficient and high-throughput solutions for complex computational problems.
