Direction of Arrival
Direction of Arrival (DoA) estimation focuses on determining the location of sound or radio sources by analyzing the arrival times or phases of signals at multiple sensors. Current research emphasizes improving DoA accuracy and computational efficiency, particularly in challenging reverberant environments, by employing techniques like Generalized Sidelobe Cancellers, particle filters, and gridless algorithms such as Sliding Frank-Wolfe and Newtonized Orthogonal Matching Pursuit, often combined with neural networks for enhanced performance. These advancements are crucial for applications ranging from robust speaker extraction in noisy settings to precise indoor localization of robots and wireless devices, particularly in GPS-denied environments.
