Dravidian Language

Dravidian languages, a significant language family spoken by hundreds of millions, are a growing focus in natural language processing (NLP) research, driven by the need to develop resources and tools for these under-resourced languages. Current research emphasizes tackling challenges like gender bias in machine translation, using models such as transformers and multilingual BERT to improve accuracy and fairness, and developing effective methods for tasks such as sentiment analysis, offensive language detection, and multilingual text classification in code-mixed contexts. These advancements are crucial for bridging the digital divide and fostering inclusivity in NLP applications, impacting areas such as social media moderation, cross-lingual communication, and the development of language technologies for diverse communities.
