Driver Fatigue

Driver fatigue is a significant cause of road accidents, prompting research into accurate and reliable detection systems. Current research heavily utilizes computer vision techniques, employing deep learning models like Convolutional Neural Networks (CNNs), Vision Transformers, and YOLO architectures, often combined with facial landmark detection and analysis of features such as eye blinks, yawns, and mouth movements, as well as physiological signals like heart rate variability. These advancements aim to create real-time, robust systems for detecting driver drowsiness and alerting drivers or external systems to prevent accidents. The development of such systems holds substantial implications for improving road safety and advancing intelligent transportation systems.
