Driving Function
Driving function research centers on developing and validating safe and reliable autonomous driving systems, primarily focusing on robust perception in challenging conditions and comprehensive scenario-based testing. Current efforts leverage deep learning models for perception, enhanced by data augmentation techniques to improve performance in adverse weather and lighting, and employ state machines and stochastic models to manage the complexity of interactions with other road users and the environment. This research is crucial for ensuring the safety and reliability of autonomous vehicles, impacting both the scientific understanding of complex systems and the development of safer, more efficient transportation.
