Drone Landing
Autonomous drone landing is a critical area of research aiming to improve the safety and reliability of unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) across diverse applications. Current research focuses on developing robust control algorithms, including deep reinforcement learning (DRL) models inspired by biological systems, to enable precise landings on both static and dynamic platforms, even in challenging conditions like wind turbulence or limited visibility. These advancements, utilizing various sensing modalities such as infrared light, cameras with fiducial markers, and even multi-agent systems for swarm landings, are crucial for expanding the capabilities and safety of drones in fields like delivery, inspection, and emergency response.
