Edge Segmentation
Edge segmentation, the task of accurately identifying boundaries between objects or regions in images, is crucial for numerous applications, from medical image analysis to autonomous navigation. Current research focuses on improving accuracy, particularly in challenging scenarios with occlusions, noise, or complex shapes, employing diverse approaches such as transformer networks, generative adversarial networks (GANs), and graph-based methods to enhance edge detection and refine segmentation masks. These advancements are driving improvements in various fields, including medical diagnosis (e.g., polyp detection), robotic surgery, and scene understanding for autonomous systems.
