Research on elderly populations centers on improving their quality of life and independence through technological interventions. Current efforts focus on developing assistive robots and AI-powered systems for monitoring well-being, detecting anomalies in daily routines (using sensor data and machine learning), and providing personalized cognitive stimulation and social interaction (leveraging LLMs and multimodal data). These advancements aim to address the growing challenges of an aging population, offering potential for improved healthcare, reduced caregiver burden, and enhanced safety and autonomy for older adults.
