Elevator Dispatching
Elevator dispatching research aims to optimize elevator systems for reduced passenger wait and travel times, addressing the inherent unpredictability of passenger traffic. Current efforts focus on leveraging machine learning, including deep learning models like convolutional neural networks and reinforcement learning, as well as optimization algorithms such as genetic algorithms and simulated annealing, to improve dispatching strategies. These advancements are driven by a need for increased efficiency and improved user experience, with applications ranging from enhancing building accessibility to informing the design of more intelligent and responsive elevator systems.
