Endoscopic Surgical Instrument
Endoscopic surgical instruments are undergoing significant advancements driven by the need for improved visualization and navigation during minimally invasive procedures. Current research focuses on developing computer vision techniques, including deep learning models like YOLOv7 and neural radiance fields (NeRFs), to reconstruct 3D anatomical models from endoscopic video in real-time, allowing for intraoperative updates to preoperative imaging and improved surgical guidance. These improvements enhance surgical precision, potentially leading to better patient outcomes and facilitating the development of autonomous navigation systems for flexible endoscopes.
