Entity Centric Question
Entity-centric question answering (ECQA) focuses on developing systems that accurately answer questions heavily reliant on specific entities and their relationships. Current research emphasizes improving retrieval methods, moving beyond simple question-document similarity to leverage entity-specific information within questions to identify relevant documents or knowledge bases, often employing techniques like dense passage retrieval and contrastive learning within multimodal or encoder-decoder frameworks incorporating entity memory. These advancements aim to enhance the accuracy and efficiency of question answering, particularly for complex scenarios involving multiple entities and events, with applications ranging from improved search engines to more sophisticated knowledge-based systems.
