Environmental Monitoring
Environmental monitoring leverages advanced technologies to efficiently collect and analyze data about various ecosystems, aiming to understand and mitigate environmental challenges. Current research emphasizes the use of autonomous vehicles (UAVs, ASVs), coupled with AI-driven perception and planning algorithms (including deep learning models, Monte Carlo tree search, and Gaussian processes), for data acquisition and analysis across diverse environments (lakes, forests, oceans, and coastal regions). This work is significant for improving the efficiency and scope of environmental monitoring, enabling more timely and informed responses to issues like pollution, deforestation, and climate change.
