Event Linking
Event linking aims to connect mentions of events in text with corresponding entries in knowledge bases, enriching textual understanding by providing additional context and detail. Current research focuses on improving the accuracy and efficiency of event linking, particularly for events not already present in the knowledge base, employing techniques such as argument-aware approaches and large language models (LLMs) for enhanced semantic understanding and ranking of potential links. This work is significant for advancing natural language processing and knowledge graph applications, impacting fields like information retrieval, question answering, and data integration by enabling more comprehensive and accurate knowledge representation.
