Eversion Robot
Eversion robots, also known as vine robots, are soft robots that extend by turning themselves inside out, enabling access to confined or complex environments. Current research focuses on improving their steering mechanisms, often using fluid-based actuation and flexible designs incorporating both soft and rigid components to enhance manipulation capabilities and payload delivery. These advancements are driving applications in diverse fields, including underwater exploration, nuclear decontamination, and minimally invasive surgery, where their unique flexibility and adaptability offer significant advantages over traditional rigid robots.
