Evolutionary Multitasking
Evolutionary multitasking (EMT) optimizes multiple tasks concurrently, leveraging knowledge transfer between them to improve efficiency and solution quality compared to tackling each task individually. Current research focuses on developing effective knowledge transfer mechanisms, including those utilizing large language models to automate model creation and complex network analyses to understand knowledge flow, and applying EMT to diverse domains such as neural architecture search, feature selection, and design optimization. This approach holds significant promise for accelerating optimization in computationally expensive problems across various scientific and engineering fields.
