Face Morphing
Face morphing involves blending multiple facial images to create a composite image that can be falsely matched to multiple identities, posing a significant threat to face recognition systems. Current research focuses on improving both the generation of realistic morphs (using techniques like diffusion models, GANs, and transformers) and the detection of these attacks (employing methods such as denoising diffusion probabilistic models and ensemble learning). This field is crucial for enhancing the security of biometric authentication systems and understanding the vulnerabilities of face recognition technology, with implications for security, law enforcement, and other applications relying on facial identification.
