Facial Geometry

Facial geometry research focuses on accurately representing and manipulating 3D facial structures from various input modalities, such as images and audio. Current efforts concentrate on developing robust and efficient methods for 3D face reconstruction, often employing neural networks (including generative adversarial networks and implicit neural representations) and parametric models (like 3D Morphable Models) to capture both coarse and fine-grained facial details. These advancements have significant implications for diverse applications, including virtual and augmented reality, animation, forensic science, and personalized medicine, by enabling more realistic and accurate facial modeling and manipulation.
