Fast Rendering
Fast rendering aims to accelerate the generation of high-quality images from 3D scene representations, primarily focusing on neural radiance fields (NeRFs) and related techniques like 3D Gaussian splatting. Current research emphasizes improving rendering speed and memory efficiency through methods such as hierarchical representations (e.g., octrees), model-agnostic expert mixtures, and optimized sampling strategies, often incorporating techniques like pre-integrated rendering and diffusion models for denoising. These advancements are crucial for enabling real-time applications like interactive games, virtual reality experiences, and efficient processing of large-scale datasets captured from various sources, including drones and multi-camera rigs.
