Fatty Liver Disease

Fatty liver disease, encompassing conditions like non-alcoholic fatty liver disease (NAFLD) and non-alcoholic steatohepatitis (NASH), is a significant global health concern characterized by excessive fat accumulation in the liver. Current research focuses on improving diagnostic accuracy through non-invasive methods like body shape analysis and image processing with deep learning models (e.g., convolutional neural networks, graph neural networks), alongside developing machine learning algorithms to predict disease progression and mortality risk using readily available patient data. These advancements aim to facilitate earlier diagnosis, personalized treatment strategies, and improved patient outcomes, particularly given the challenges of current diagnostic methods and the underdiagnosis of NASH.
