Finger Vein Recognition
Finger vein recognition, a biometric authentication method leveraging the unique vascular patterns in fingers, aims to develop highly secure and private identification systems. Current research emphasizes improving accuracy and robustness through advanced deep learning architectures, including convolutional neural networks (CNNs) often incorporating attention mechanisms and novel feature extraction techniques, as well as exploring federated learning approaches to enhance privacy. These advancements address challenges like data heterogeneity, presentation attacks, and the need for efficient and cancelable biometric templates, ultimately contributing to more reliable and secure applications in various sectors.
