Fixed Wing
Fixed-wing unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) are being extensively researched for diverse applications, focusing on improving control, autonomy, and efficiency. Current research emphasizes advanced control algorithms, including reinforcement learning (both model-free and model-based) and Kalman filtering variants, to enhance navigation and stability in challenging environments like mountainous terrain and during maritime search and rescue operations. These advancements are crucial for expanding the capabilities and safety of fixed-wing UAVs in various sectors, from environmental monitoring to communication infrastructure. Optimization techniques, such as trajectory planning and co-design optimization of morphing wing topologies, are also being explored to improve energy efficiency and mission performance.
