Flexible Tail
Research on flexible tails explores how these appendages enhance locomotion, stability, and maneuverability in both biological and robotic systems. Current studies focus on developing control algorithms, often employing reinforcement learning or optimization-based approaches, to effectively utilize the degrees of freedom offered by multi-jointed tails, and on improving the accuracy of automated tail morphology analysis using advanced image segmentation techniques. This research is significant for advancing robotics, particularly in the design of agile and adaptable robots, and for providing insights into the biomechanics of animal movement and the evolution of tail morphology.
