Flower Pollination Algorithm

The Flower Pollination Algorithm (FPA) is a nature-inspired metaheuristic optimization algorithm mimicking the pollination process in flowering plants, aiming to efficiently find optimal or near-optimal solutions for complex problems. Current research focuses on improving FPA's performance through modifications like adjusting switch probabilities based on problem dimensionality and hybridizing it with other algorithms such as Genetic Algorithms to enhance both global and local search capabilities. These advancements are being applied to diverse fields, including robotic precision pollination in agriculture (demonstrated with promising results in apple orchards) and virtual network embedding, highlighting FPA's versatility as a powerful optimization tool.
