Font Impression
Font impression, the subjective feeling evoked by a typeface, is a growing area of research focusing on automatically generating and recognizing these impressions from font images. Current research employs deep learning models, particularly diffusion models and convolutional neural networks, to generate fonts matching specific impression keywords or to estimate the impression of existing fonts, often addressing challenges like missing or noisy impression labels. This work has implications for both design applications, enabling more intuitive font selection and generation tools, and for understanding the relationship between visual design elements and human perception.
