FoodOn Ontology
FoodOn is an ontology—a formal representation of knowledge—designed to organize and structure information related to food systems. Current research focuses on improving FoodOn's capabilities through techniques like ontology embeddings (e.g., using Inverted-index Matrix Embedding and Co-occurrence Matrix Embedding) and natural language processing (NLP) to automatically classify entities and improve semantic matching between food descriptions and data. This work aims to enhance knowledge graph population and integration within the food domain, ultimately supporting more effective data analysis and decision-making in agriculture and related fields.
