Freezing of Gait
Freezing of gait (FOG), a debilitating symptom of Parkinson's disease, is the focus of intense research aimed at developing accurate and reliable detection methods. Current efforts utilize machine learning, particularly deep learning architectures like transformer networks, convolutional neural networks, and ensemble methods such as BagStacking, to analyze data from wearable sensors (accelerometers) and pressure-sensitive mats. These advancements aim to improve the accuracy and efficiency of FOG detection in both clinical and home settings, ultimately enhancing patient monitoring and improving quality of life for individuals with Parkinson's disease.
