Game Testing
Game testing, aiming to ensure quality and player experience, is increasingly leveraging AI to automate traditionally manual processes. Current research focuses on applying large language models (LLMs), vision-language models (VLMs), and reinforcement learning (RL) agents, often combined with imitation learning and other techniques like curiosity-driven exploration, to assess game difficulty, tutorial effectiveness, and gameplay mechanics across diverse game genres. These automated approaches promise significant improvements in efficiency and cost-effectiveness for game development, particularly in identifying bugs and optimizing game balance, while also providing valuable insights into player behavior and game design.
