Garment Animation

Garment animation research focuses on realistically simulating the movement and appearance of clothing in digital environments, aiming to improve efficiency and realism compared to traditional methods. Current efforts leverage neural networks, particularly neural radiance fields (NeRFs) and diffusion models, often incorporating techniques like Gaussian splatting and deformation decomposition to handle complex interactions between clothing and the body, including loose-fitting garments and multiple layers. These advancements are significant for applications in film, gaming, virtual fashion, and virtual try-on, offering more efficient and realistic clothing simulation than previous physics-based approaches.
