Gaussian Avatar
Gaussian avatars represent a significant advancement in 3D human modeling, aiming to create realistic and animatable digital humans using efficient Gaussian splatting techniques. Current research focuses on improving the realism and expressiveness of these avatars, particularly in facial features and body movements, often employing hybrid models combining Gaussian representations with mesh-based or neural implicit field approaches for enhanced detail and control. This work has substantial implications for various fields, including virtual reality, animation, and video game development, by offering a computationally efficient method for generating high-quality, dynamic human characters.
