Gaussian Representation
Gaussian representation is an emerging technique in computer vision and 3D modeling that leverages Gaussian functions to encode and manipulate data, offering advantages in efficiency, compression, and editability compared to traditional neural network-based methods. Current research focuses on applying Gaussian representations to diverse tasks, including image editing, 3D object generation, video processing, and medical image registration, often employing variations of Gaussian Mixture Models, splatting techniques, and latent diffusion models. This approach shows promise for improving the accuracy, speed, and versatility of various applications, ranging from real-time eye fixation prediction to high-fidelity 3D scene reconstruction and deformable image registration in medical imaging.
