Gender Neutral Translation
Gender-neutral translation (GNT) aims to develop machine translation (MT) systems that avoid perpetuating gender bias and stereotypes, particularly in languages with grammatical gender. Current research focuses on leveraging large language models (LLMs) and prompting techniques to generate gender-inclusive translations, alongside the creation of benchmark datasets to evaluate and improve these models' performance. This work is crucial for mitigating harmful biases in widely used translation technologies and promoting fairer and more equitable representation across languages and cultures.
