Generalized Camera

Generalized camera models aim to unify the representation of various camera types, from simple pinhole cameras to complex multi-camera rigs and fisheye lenses, simplifying 3D scene understanding and robotic applications. Current research focuses on developing robust algorithms for pose estimation and camera calibration using minimal point correspondences, incorporating these models into Simultaneous Localization and Mapping (SLAM) frameworks, and improving the generalization capabilities of deep learning-based methods for 3D object detection across diverse camera configurations. This work is significant for advancing computer vision and robotics by enabling more accurate and adaptable perception systems across a wider range of imaging scenarios.
