Goal Directed Decision
Goal-directed decision-making research focuses on understanding how agents choose actions to achieve desired outcomes, encompassing diverse fields like AI, psychology, and economics. Current research emphasizes developing computational models, including those leveraging large language models and latent state representations, to improve the efficiency and accuracy of planning and decision-making in both simulated and real-world environments. This work is crucial for advancing AI systems capable of complex tasks and for designing effective human-AI collaborations in high-stakes domains, as well as for understanding and improving human decision-making processes. Furthermore, tailoring incentives to individual needs shows promise in enhancing goal-directed behavior.
